How The Assessments Work
Written Examination
Unit 410 is undertaken on the final day of the Qualified Saddle Fitters Training Course.
Practical Saddle-Fitting Assessment
Units 401–404 are undertaken on a separate practical assessment day. Unit 404 requires the learner to complete two full saddle fittings.
The practical assessment is not included within the Qualified Saddle Fitters Training Course. Learners wishing to be considered for assessment must contact the Training Administrator.
Assessment places are allocated according to experience and evidence of preparation. Completion of the training course does not automatically guarantee that a learner will be offered an immediate assessment place.
Flocking and Flocking Adjustments
Unit 405 forms an integral part of the City & Guilds Assured Certificate in Saddle Fitting.
The required training and assessment are completed through one of the Society’s approved external flocking course providers. This unit must be successfully completed before the full certificate can be awarded.
